After so much time in a big city I needed a "green" break. And for that the Iguazu Falls were the perfect spot!
I guess everybody has already heard about this gigantic falls on the boarder between Argentina and Brazil (and also very close to Paraguay), competing now aparently on the stupid 7 natural wonders contest.
I took a plane (for a change) to arrive on a monday morning at the relaxing village of Puerto Iguazu, and to go almost directly on the Brazilian side (one more visa on my passport!) for a few hours.
Although the biggest part of the site is located in Argentina, from Brazil you're further but enjoy a more panoramic view of the different falls...it's very hot, such a nice tropical natural park, and so amazing...
On the next day, I spent more time on the argentinian side of the park, were you get very close to the falls, from above and also from below....although I didn't take a boat to get closer...the biggest fall, called "the devil throat" is impresive, you get there only from above, and take a huge shower once you're there.
I also did a walk in the rain forest and even saw a tucan!
To go back to BA I decided this time to take a bus (24h in total), and stopping at the ruins of the jesuit mission of San Ignacio. If you saw the movie mission, you'll know about this unbelievable towns the jesuits built with the Guarani indians on the 17th century. Not so much to see, but interesting.

After a few days in BA, I took a boat this time for a day trip on the other side of the Rio de la Plata, to visit the Uruguayan town of Colonia del Sacramento, listed on the World Heritage Sites. it was an nice visit, very relaxing, with even a bath on the river, but putting this village on the world heritage seemed to me a little bit exagerated...
