The 2nd of august 2011

What a beautiful day! I'm in Galway and I feel so good.

I arrived this morning and I have had the time to feel the atmosphere.
I followed the "Evasion guide" advice to begin the day : I reached the Goya's restaurant. I crossed first the Eyre square ; I went to the old town through the narrow streets to find it. I felt the same emotion when I discovered Strasbourg (I felt familiar with the place) I would like to live here. At Goyas, I had a brunch (ham pie and a scone with a large coffee).

[To write about the journey : I left by bus this morning. Go out of the Holiday center made me feel alive, free and happy. It was at that moment I enjoyed Ireland : Need of liberty and travelling.]

I asked the waitress of the Goya's if there was an accommodation she could recommend me and I went to book my bed in the hostel.

The discovery could start. Then I reached the river and walked along : I felt so glad. There is a canal. You are lulled by the sound of the water. Swans, cormorans and gulls are there.
I heard a musician who was playing banjo. I liked it.

I continued my walk along the sea thinking about the Connemara and Ireland in general because the landscapes are so amazing. The tide was down.

After some shopping, I decided to have a break. Tea time was ringing. I went to visit St Nicolas Church, patron saint of sailors and I found the best place to have a cool break in my opinion, the Mill House. I had already seen the terrasse and wanted to sunbath on it. I went into the restaurant and discovered the wheel of the mill behind a window in the restaurant. I went into the terrasse and had a lemon mouss : amazing! the sound of water and the view relaxed me totally. I though about working here as a waitress : a dream...

I continued my walk the very lively streets, full of street artists : a sound sculptor, music bands made us go to Latin America or Australia.
Something very surprising : there were lots of real sandwich-men holding placards of restaurant.

After have heard lot of music, I decided to have dinner but I was looking for a place with music and english speakers... Finally, watching the human show along the river enjoying the sun shines, I preferred to join them and I felt the need to write.

Now, the tide is up and Galway has another face. The swans show us their beauty. We can hear the sound, coming with the wind, of drums on the beach further. The people around me seem happy. I'm enjoying!
