Second English post only, here it is.
We're now at 135 miles only of Springer and the end of our trail. We're close to the 400 miles milestone. It feels goooood! We are now stable in speed and distance, we usually do between 14 and 18 miles a day except when we reach a town, then we try to make the day as short as possible (7 miles of downhill today, yesss)
We're in Bryson city, in North Carolina and we're glad to reach a place with both heat and a roof. The 10 past days have been challenging for sure. The first 6 were rainy, it rained each days with 2 full days of rain and wind. In that conditions, reaching the shelter is simple happiness. I'm sure it's a bit like when you hit your head against a wall and you stop, it feels good!
The clear blue sky pushed the rain away about 4 days ago, but the clear blue sky brought cold wind with it. The days are a bit fresh but nice when you hike (high around 50-55F), but the night are COLD! This morning, it was 34F when we stepped out of the tent. Fire is mandatory!
Anyway, it makes us enjoy even more the moments of good weather. And it should warm up and stay clear in the next few days, could we ask for more?
Look at the photos in the French posts, you'll see what we look like in the rain and our stay in a fire tower. You'll also see us celebrating Mary's 70th birthday. Mary and us have been hiking on and off together almost since the beginning of our trip. Mary might be 70, but she hikes like she was 25, outrunning us easily! For her birthday, we hitch kiked into town to find hot dogs, juices, marshmallows, cake and candles, it was a great night. Well evening I guess since we start sleeping at 8:30...

We are going to rest for a day and you may have a new post tomorrow. Stay tune!

Camille and Pierre
