Ola amigas y amigos,

Before arriving at Chiapas and make its portrait for you, I need finish the description of my stay in Oaxaca. I spent the last 2 days in the "Pueblos Mancomunados". It's an association of 8 villages which have developed an Eco-tourism in a valley in the northern Oaxaca. So I've been walking in the mountain for 2 days and enjoyed a Mexican massage... My first massage here in Mexico. I could have described these treks in the form of an competition of the plants/trees, but you've had this competition before. So I was wondering to propose you a new version with cactus. (Especially that Donatien is waiting for the competition!) In fact those who would like to look for information, will anyway do it because curiosity exists without needs of motivation.
By the same occasion, Stephane, following a research on internet, the mescaline is a hallucinogenic drug extracted from certain cactus...The mezqual and tequila are not hallucinogenic or this can explain well the delusion of some of my messages! The flower is agave. Blue Agave for tequila and the others for mezqual.
There we go, photos of the cactus:

The same with its flower. I swear, in the last picture, to you that the thing exceed is its flower...

Then for the others.

Many species that I don't know about. You have noticed the bromeliads. (The last photo, they're not orchid) I know it's difficult as there are also the photos of orchid before.) This one with the flower pending is a bromeliads. Just for botanic interest, pineapple is also a bromeliads. Let's end up here for this family, it's big diversity will not fulfill this blog. I will make you discover other things.

After 7 hours of bus, I arrived in Chiapas, more precisely, at San Cristobal of Las Casas. The Chiapas is a real culture. A great history with the Mayas and you can feel it at every corner of the roads. It is also from there that the Zapata revolution started. I could have done again the colorful houses description...

But you have already seen these and you're going to be bored. In order to illustrate the colors of Mexico to you, I lingered among the churches. Here is a sample of the city of San Cristobal.

But if there is anything to share with you, it would rather be these faces of Chiapas. And by these, I thought, here I am, I have my topic... The portraits. Except that the residents haven't understood my objective and generally they do not accept being taken in the photo. Below are the portraits taken by a French paparazzi in Chiapas. Mr. Hollande and Ms Gayet will need to hide themselves when I come back.

Then, I cannot leave you without talking about these sellers on the road... They have no big things to sell. Mexico is part of the emergent countries of the BRIMCS group. The poverty is there and the emergence is slow.

And especially if I leave you without telling you the village of San Juan Chamula and its churches will be criminal from my side! 2 euros are charged for visit and surprisingly, I should let you know that photos are forbidden! Really, a penalty or even imprisonment is followed! But I really wanted to share with you my experiences, the paparazzi inside me was again awaken. I felt a little shameful but the emotion was so strong that I have no excuse in front of the forbid. But the forbid is not there to be broken? Especially in the country of Zapata and the revolution... Well Hollande and Gayet have no need to worry when we see the result. There are hundreds of candles and pine needles on the ground. The family settled down on the ground in front of an idol or a low table, arranged dozens of candles and started to pray. It was rather an incantation or a rite Maya than the catholic prayers. (We're in a catholic church) Then they started to bless their sodas, coca-cola for example, above the candles (according to them, the burp helps to evacuate the bad spritits...) afterwards, they took out a chicken for sacrifice. I swear that there was no blood! It's still far away from the classical Catholicism. The Spanish destroyed their temples and impose to them a religion and there, in the middle of a church, the rites resist. The power of ancestral traditions confront invader's ambition of imposing their vision. Tibet should still have chance for its culture's survival.

I arrived at Palenque, always in Chiapas for its first maya ages, the tropical forest, the wild animals... For the next time.

新年快乐
我想你们
To finish, happy new year of horse to all of you!
Missing you!
